Resolution: a resolve or determination. the act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action, method, procedure, etc.
Every year, I like to make New Year’s resolutions. I don’t feel bad about making resolutions. I prefer to think of them as goals. I am not a perfectionist, all-or-nothing kind of goal maker. If I get side tracked, so be it. I can always refocus again or not. I say any step toward doing something new or different is a positive one. All experiences lead to growth and are beneficial.
In 2013, I would like to:
1. Be more frugal: Limit spending by following the cash envelope system. Make gifts with supplies I already have. Start “thrifting” again.
2. Create more, consume less. I will make more art. I am committing to taking and posting a photo a day for 365 days. Excited and nervous. I would also like to get the kids’ baby books up to date. My goal is to do a scrapbook page a week.
3. Exercise. This is always on my list, because it is good. Signing up for races helps me stay motivated. I plan on doing a few 5ks and I am hoping, another half marathon.
Happy New Year!
I like all three. I learned from you the value of incremental success vs. dramatic change. I always said the tortoise way was better, but lived like the hare. I’m coming around. Thanks!
